Caribische Zee

In de Caribische Zee valt er van alles te beleven. Boek bijvoorbeeld een liveaboard duikcruise die je meeneemt op avontuur naar waanzinnig plekken als Belize, de Bovenwindse Eilanden, de Baai-eilanden, de Kaaimaneilanden en de Turks- en Caicoseilanden. Zo is de onderwatergrot Blue Hole voor de kust van Belize een echte trekpleister en is het zwemmen tussen de rotsformaties op Saba en tussen de koraalriffen rond de Turks-en Caicoseilanden iets dat je absoluut niet mag missen. Bezoek tijdens je reis ook Bloody Bay Marine Park in Little Cayman op de Kaaimaneilanden en tel de sponzen en tropische vissen rondom het Eiland Roatán.

Duikresorts in de Caribische Zee

Liever geen liveaboard vakantie, maar ook genieten van de natuur en de cultuur op het land? Kies dan voor een resort. Op onder andere Bonaire, Curaçao, de Bahama’s of Martinique heb je overal prachtige verblijfsplaatsen waar je nooit meer weg wilt. Zo zwem je in de Bahama’s met haaien, profiteer je van de gastvrijheid en gezelligheid op het sprookjesachtige Bonaire, loop je vanaf je hotel of resort op Curaçao zo de kraakheldere zee in en neem je na een dag duiken in de zee weer een frisse duik in het zwembad van je resort op Martinique.

Drive en dive Caribische Zee

Naast prachtige resorts bieden Bonaire en Curaçao je ook alle vrijheid voor, tijdens en na jouw duiken. Je huurt op deze eilanden namelijk gemakkelijk een auto. Ook zijn er verschillende Dive & Drive vakanties te boeken waar de auto in je reispakket zit. Het enige dat jij hoeft te doen is al de benodigde spullen inladen en vertrekken naar jouw volgende duikbestemming. Jij beslist waar je naartoe wilt, wanneer en hoe vaak je duikt die dag. Het fijne aan zowel Bonaire als Curaçao is daarbij ook dat je vanaf de kust zo het water in kan lopen om de duik te starten. Zo kan je in Bonaire bijvoorbeeld maar liefst meer dan 60 kantduiken maken. Het rijden zelf is ook geen obstakel, je rijdt - net als in Nederland - rechts en haalt links in.

Ben je nou op zoek naar ultieme vrijheid en voetjes van de vloer? Feest er dan op los met de lokale bevolking, ga winkelen en proef heerlijke gerechten in de vele sfeervolle restaurants in Jamaica. Duik overdag in het Montego Bay Marine Park waar een beschermd koraalrif ligt. Hier gaat het duikershart nog sneller van gaat kloppen. Of rust uit onder palmbomen en wordt omringd door tal van tropische vissen en koralen rondom de eilanden Grande Terre en Basse Terre van Guadeloupe. Duik op het Astron Wreck omringd door barracuda’s in de Dominicaanse Republiek, bewonder de wrakken van St. Pierre op Martinique en de zoetwater grotten van Tulum in Mexico.
